Box Score Men's Basketball Drops 4th Straight in 107-72 Loss at Ramapo
(RAMAPO, N.J.) – The Medgar Evers men's basketball team traveled to Ramapo, N.J. for a nonconference matchup at the Bradley Center. Medgar Evers was defeated 107-72 making it four straight losses after winning their season opener two weeks ago. With the loss, Medgar Evers falls to 1-4 while Ramapo remains unbeaten at 4-0 on the year.
Medgar Evers shot just 33% for the game going 22 of 65 while connecting on 11 of 30 three pointers. The Cougars were out rebounded and turned the ball over a dreadful 25 times. Their leading scorer for the game was junior guard
Maurice Swaby II (Brooklyn, N.Y.). Swaby had a career-high 33 points on 10 of 23 (44%) shooting including 7 threes. Sophomore guard
Justin Sutton (Brooklyn, N.Y) was the only other Cougar to reach double figures notching 19 points and eight rebounds. Freshman forward
Jafet Thomas (Brooklyn, N.Y.) grabbed a team-high nine rebounds including five offensive boards. Classmate
Shaquan Mitchell (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a game-high eight assists.
Ramapo had a balanced attack while being efficient from the floor. The Roadrunners shot 49% on 40 of 82 shooting. Ramapo's leading scorer,
Thomas Bonacum, scored 18 points on 6 of 12 (50%) shooting.
The Cougars are back in action Friday, December 2nd when they visit Hunter College for the CUNYAC season opener. The game will begin at 8:30 p.m.
