Men’s Basketball Falls to Conference Rival Baruch 95-66

(NEW YORK, N.Y.) – The Medgar Evers men's basketball team traveled to conference rival Baruch College for a CUNYAC matchup at Arc Arena on Friday night. Medgar Evers was defeated 95-66 to Baruch. With the loss, Medgar Evers falls to 2-6 (1-2 CUNYAC) while Baruch improves to 7-2 (3-0) on the season.
 
The Cougars led by eight points early in the first half but then Baruch went on a 17-0 run where Medgar Evers did not score a basket for over five minutes. The Cougars were not able to bounce back after that.  Medgar Evers shot 21-57 (37%) compared to Baruch's 47%. They also struggled at the line going 21-40 (53%).
 
The Cougars were led by junior guard Maurice Swaby II (Brooklyn, N.Y) and sophomore guard Justin Sutton (Brooklyn, N.Y). Swaby II scored 22 points while getting five steals and Sutton added 16 points and seven rebounds.
 
Baruch's Doyin Isaac led the way with 20 points. Men's basketball is back in action Wednesday, January 4th when they travel to Brooklyn College for a CUNYAC matchup. The game will begin at 7:15 p.m.
