Box Score Women's Volleyball Loses 3-1 to AMC
BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Sep. 29, 2016) – On Thursday, the women's volleyball team took on the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College in a non-conference matchup. Albertus Magnus won the first two sets but Medgar Evers was able to avoid the sweep by winning their first set of the season. The Cougars dropped the 4
th set losing the match 3-1. With this loss, Medgar Evers falls to 0-13 on the year and AMC improves to 4-9.
Freshman
Adenike Akindude had a team-high nine kills while adding 10 digs to her tally. It was the best match of the year and they played together as a team and avoided the sweep for the first time this year. Senior
Naomi Chandler recorded eight assists and four aces for the Cougars.
Women's volleyball will be back in action on Saturday, October 1, at the Albertus Magnus tri-match in New Haven, Conn. Medgar Evers will play two matches with the first one beginning at 1 p.m. against the College of New Rochelle.
