(BROOKLYN, N.Y.) – The Medgar Evers men's basketball team hosted the Beavers of CCNY in a CUNYAC matchup at the Cougars' Cave on Friday night. The Cougars were defeated 98-52 thanks in part to the red hot three point shooting from CCNY. The Beavers connected on 16-33 from deep. With the loss, Medgar Evers falls to 3-8 (2-4 CUNYAC) while CCNY improves to 7-6 (5-2) on the season.
 
            The Cougars hung in there but fell behind 15 points going into the locker room. CCNY hit eight threes to give them the lead. To open the second half CCNY went on a 22-5 run in the first 6 minutes causing the lead to balloon to 32 points. Medgar Evers turned the ball over 31 times while allowing CCNY to score 35 points off those turnovers.   
 
            The Cougars were led by junior guard Maurice Swaby II (Brooklyn, N.Y) who had a team-high 19 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists. Freshman forward Timothy Bush (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had himself a double-double scoring 10 points and grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds.
 
            CCNY was led by David Solano who scored 28 points on eight threes. Men's basketball is back in action Monday, January 11th when they host John Jay for a CUNYAC matchup beginning at 8 p.m.
