15 Cougars Earn CUNYAC '24-'25 Winter/Spring Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll Status

The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) has announced its Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for the 2025 Spring semester, handing out 445 citations for academic excellence. 15 student-athletes from Medgar Evers were among the honorees, including women's track and field's Maritza Argueta, Aaliyah Bartholomew, Thenica Thompson, and Kinnik Timothy, men's track and field's Reco Griffith, Kayshaun Higgs, and Rupert Luard-Charles, men's basketball's Zachary Bussey, Boubacar Mbaye, Trevonne Tcha, and Ahmed Toure, women's basketball's Anamaria Dzagnidze, Aaliyah Lyons and Sheily Quezada, and men's volleyball's Kimahli Reid. Following the announcement of the honorees, Medgar Evers Director of Athletics Chetara Murphy praised the commitment of the aforementioned scholar aces.

"We applaud our student-athletes for their academic accomplishments," Murphy said. "Our department takes pride in our students' performance, and it's gratifying to see them continue to shine in the classroom, persevering through the challenges of balancing school, athletics, work, and family obligations. These 15 student-athletes should be proud of their dedication and sacrifices, and may they continue to prosper both athletically and academically."

The CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes across all 13 member institutions who participated in a varsity-level sport who own a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or better on a 4.0 scale.
