Sophomore Outdoor Track & Field sensation Reco Griffith qualifies for NCAA Division III Championships in La Crosse, WI

Following an incredible journey throughout the 2026 men's outdoor track and field season, Medgar Evers standout Reco Griffith has officially qualified to compete at the NCAA Division III Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin (May 21-23). Griffith qualified in both the 100-Meter Dash and 200-Meter Dash, and will have the opportunity to showcase his talent against some of the best athletes the country has to offer. Following the announcement of the award, Head Coach Hugh Reid praised Reco.

"Proud is an understatement when addressing Reco's accomplishments for our program this season," Reid said. "He has committed himself to being one of the best in the country at what he does, and he truly has earned this opportunity. He has continued to stay motivated and has only improved with each passing meet. He continues to raise the bar, break school records, and set new standards. We are all looking forward to seeing him give it his all next week against the nation's best."

Griffith dominated the sprints during the outdoor season for the Cougars, capturing the 100 (10.48) and 200 (21.23) with conference-championship record performances at at the CUNYAC championship meet back on May 2. A three-time Track Athlete of the Week, the standout won the 100-Meter Dash at the NCAA Division III Regional Championship, and came in second in the 200.
