Medgar Evers College outdoor track & field teams combine to earn 10 NCAA Division III All-Region distinctions

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field All-Region honorees late last week, and five members of the Medgar Evers College outdoor track & field program (LeShaun Miller, Brianna Lindo, Pharell Fowler, Reco Griffith, and Omari Hinds) combined to secure 10 All-Metro Region selections. The accomplishments capped a standout 2026 campaign in which the teams competed at the highest level, achieving many historic feats against some of the best athletes in the sport. Following the announcement of the awards, Head Coach Hugh Reid gave his thoughts.

"I am very proud to see these five student-athletes get recognized on a national level for their tremendous accomplishments during the 2026 campaign," Reid said. "They truly dedicated themselves to continuous improvement and excellence, and to see their hard work pay off this way is very gratifying. What's even more exciting is that these student-athletes will continue to push themselves, with the opportunity to continue reaching and perhaps even eclipsing what they accomplished this season during the 2027 campaign."

The All-Region honors are awarded annually to the top five performers in specific events from all across the Metro region.

Sophomore Reco Griffith, who qualified for the NCAA Division III championships this season, collected All-Region accolades in three events, including the 100-Meter Dash, 200-Meter Dash, and 4x100 Meter Relay.

Freshman sensation Pharell Fowler, who was tabbed CUNYAC's Rookie of the Year, earned All-Region praise in the 200-Meter Dash, and the 4x100 Meter Relay.

CUNYAC Outdoor Championship Meet Most Valuable Performer Omari Hinds, as well as LeShaun Miller, each earned an All-Region honor for the 4x100 Meter Relay event.

Brianna Lindo, who dominated the CUNYAC landscape this season, taking home the conference's Track Athlete of the Year, Field Athlete of the Year, and Rookie of the Year honors, also bagged three All-Region distinctions, for the Heptathlon, 100-Meter Hurdles, and 400-Meter Hurdles.
