Medgar Evers College men's soccer freshman Kevin Blackstock Jr. has been named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week for the period of September 14–20, marking the second time this season that he has earned the conference's weekly rookie distinction.

Blackstock Jr. enjoyed another standout week for the Cougars, scoring three goals across two matches as Medgar Evers remained unbeaten with a 4-0-1 record across the team's opening five contests.

The freshman ace opened the week with a two-goal performance in the Cougars' 2-2 draw against Sarah Lawrence College on September 14. Blackstock Jr. followed that effort by finding the back of the net once more in Medgar Evers' 3-0 CUNYAC-opening victory over York College on September 17.

With three goals added to his season totals, Blackstock Jr. now leads the Cougars with six goals on the season, continuing an impressive start to his collegiate career.

His latest Rookie of the Week selection is his second of the 2026 campaign, further highlighting his impact as the Cougars navigate their conference schedule.

Medgar Evers will return to action on Wednesday, September 23, when the Cougars face York College once again, this time in a non-conference matchup at the York College Athletic Complex in Jamaica, N.Y. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
