Old Westbury, NY- The Women's Volleyball squad lost a tough match to the College of Old Westbury Panthers on Thursday Oct.13, 2011. The Lady Cougars lost 3-0 (10-25, 14-25, 22-25). The lost dropped MEC to 0-15 while the Panthers improved to 14-10. The first 2 sets were dominated by Old Westbury. The 3rd set was a fight but MEC fell short by 3 points.

MEC in the loss, was led by Yvanna Jack. Jack tallied 5 kills to go along with 7 digs, 3 solo blocks and a blocking assist. Catheline Joseph followed up with 3 kills and Janiece Hill with 2. AnnMarie Bemberry led the team in assists with 5 and service aces with 2.

Ruth Vargas led Old Westbury with 9 kills.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Saturday Oct.15, 2011 when they compete in Troy, NY at Sage College. They will play Sage at noon and William Patterson at 2pm.
