Women's Volleyball

LADY COUARS FALL TO SAGE AND WPU IN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Troy, NY- The Women's Volleyball team lost in a tri match to Sage College and William Patterson University 3-0 a piece on Saturday Oct.15, 2011 at Sage College. 

In match 1, Sage Collge Gators defeated MEC 3-0 (9-25, 4-25, 11-25). The Gators improved to 10-17 while the Lady Cougars fell to 0-16.

The Lady Cougars were led in the loss by Yvanna Jack. Jack tallied 5 kills and 3 digs. Grace Mercado led the team in assists with 3, Beatrice Bonhomme led in service aces with 1 and a solo block. She also tied in blocking assists with 2. Ann Marie Bemberry also tallied 2 blocking assists.

Sage was led by Jillian Schwab with 8 kills.

In match 2, the Pioneers defeated MEC 3-0 (6-25, 8-25, 4-25). Nothing worked for the Lady Cougars in order for them to win this match. MEC in the loss, was led by Catheline Joseph with 3 kills. Joseph also tallied a solo block. AnnMarie Bemberry led the team in assists with 4 and Yvanna Jack tallied a solo block. WPU was led by Kim Runge. She tallied a game high 11 kills.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday Oct.18, 2011 when they play Baruch College at Baruch in New York, NY. Game time is 7pm.
