LADY COUGARS FALL TO CSE ON SENIOR NIGHT IN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Brooklyn, NY- The Women's Volleyball team played against the College of St. Elizabeth in their final home game of 2011. The Screaming Eagles won 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, and 25-17). CSE improved to 13-13 Overall while the Lady Cougars dropped to 0-19. On Thursday Oct.20, 2011, it was Breast Cancer Awareness Night as some of the MEC players had pink uniforms on because October is the month which Breast Cancer Awareness is being observed. It was also Senior Night as Yvanna Jack and Natina McKessey was honored before the match. 

CSE dominated play for the first 2 sets. In the 3rd set, the Lady Cougars were down 20-10 and fought back to a 20-17 CSE lead. The Screaming Eagles would score the next 5 points and cruise to the victory.

In the loss, MEC was led by Yvanna Jack and her 3 kills. She also tallied 3 digs, 2 solo blocks and 5 blocking assists. Catheline Joseph and Beatrice Bonhomme each tallied 2 kills. AnnMarie Bemberry led in assists with 4, and Joseph led in digs with 7.

CSE was led by Kareemah Muhammad, who tallied a match high 9 kills.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Saturday Oct.22, 2011 when they play at Pratt Institute at Pratt. Game time is set for 12pm.
