WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROPS FOUR MATCHES IN TWO DAYS AT KEYSTONE QUAD

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 La Plume, PA- The Medgar Evers College Women's Volleyball team fell to four different schools in two days at the Keystone College Quad held on Friday Sept. 19 and Saturday Sept. 20, 2014. 

On the Friday, the Cougars fell to the Wilkes University Colonels 3-0 (5-25, 12-25, 5-25). Wilkes improved to 4-5 Overall while Medgar Evers College dropped to 2-8 Overall. 

Sophomore Outside Hitter Kalifa Roberts led the team with three kills on seven total attacks. Junior Setter AnnMarie Bemberry led the team in assists with eight. The Colonels were led by Madison Scarfaro and Danica Benson with four kills apiece.

In match 2, the Cougars were hosting the Purchase College Panthers. The Panthers won 3-0 (14-25, 22-25, 15-25). Purchase improves to 2-14 Overall while the Cougars drop to 2-9 Overall. 

Two Cougars tallied 21 of the teams 24 kills. Sophomore Outside Hitter Kalifa Roberts tallied a match high 11 kills on 21 total attacks. Roberts added four service aces, and eight digs. Senior Outside Hitter Kiwelewa Mlimwengu recorded 10 kills on 21 total attacks. The Brooklyn, NY native added three service aces, and a dig. Junior Setter AnnMarie Bemberry dished out a match high 22 assists. The Panthers were led by Sarah Gabler with eight kills. 

On Saturday Sept. 20, 2014, the Medgar Evers College played host Keystone College Giants and the Rosemont Ravens.

In Match 3, the Cougars fell to the Keystone College Giants 3-0 (16-25, 15-25, 13-25) . The Giants improve to 7-6 Overall while the Cougars drop to 2-10 Overall. 

The Cougars were led by Sophomore Outside Hitter Kalifa Roberts and Senior Outside Hitter Kiwelewa Mlimwengu, with seven kills apiece. Mlimwengu added three service aces. Junior Setter AnnMarie Bemberry dished out a match high 15 assists. Keystone was led by Hannah Zuchkowski with eight kills.

In the final match, the Cougars fell to the Ravens of Rosemont College 3-0 (18-25, 22-25, 19-25). The Ravens improve to 1-10 Overall while the Cougars drop to 2-11 Overall.

Senior Outside Hitter Kiwelewa Mlimwengu tallied 11 kills on 23 total attacks. Mlimwengu added five service aces, and two digs. Junior Setter AnnMarie Bemberry dished out eight assists. 

The Cougars will be back in action on Thursday Sept. 25, 2014, when they host the Baruch College Bearcats. This will be the home opener for the Cougars. First set will begin at 7:00pm.
