Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Medgar Evers women's volleyball could not get any momentum going beginning in the first set as they lost to Baruch College in straight sets, 3-0 (25-5, 25-12, 25-8), in a CUNYAC matchup Thursday night at ARC Arena.
 
For the Cougars (0-11, 0-4 CUNYAC), Kalifa Roberts (San Fernando, Trinidad/La Romain Secondary) led the team with three kills to go with three assists and six digs, while setter AnnMarie Bemberry (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fashion Industries) dished out three assists and a team-high nine digs.
 
Leading the Bearcats (7-10, 4-0 CUNYAC) was McKenzie Davidson who had a game-high six kills in the win to snap a four-game losing streak. Kaitlyn Vichas secured six service aces, while Sydney Parks slammed five kills and five service aces. Primary setter Tara Imbrenda delivered a game-best 18 assists.
 
The first set was all Baruch, taking advantage of an early 12-point run after being tied 2-2. They would then score an incredible 22 of the next 23 points to take the set running away. Parks tallied nine of her points in the stanza.
 
In the second, Medgar Evers would grab an early advantage, but another furious Bearcats run put them up double figures. Vichas would tally all six of her service aces during this offensive outburst. The Cougars chipped away the lead back down to single digits, but consecutive attack errors would move the deficit back up to 19-6 and would lead to a Baruch set win.
 
Going to the third set, Baruch would build a lead another sizable lead. Two straight Medgar Evers points brought it back down to six points, but a 12-1 run by the Bearcats all but sealed the three-set win.

Medgar Evers will head up to Annadale-on-Hudson for a multi-match to take on both Albertus Magnus and host Bard College. The first matchup is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. with the second match set for 4:00 p.m. Live stats and video will be available on Bard's website.
