Box Score FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Medgar Evers women's volleyball team fell behind right out of the gate, and lost on the road to Farmingdale State in straight sets, (7-25, 4-25, 12-25), Tuesday night.
 
Chloe Thomas-Bedeau (Montreal, Quebec/) tallied one of the team's two kills throughout the match for the Cougars (0-14) along with a service ace. The team also got a kill from Laquada Hall (Far Rockaway, N.Y./Rockaway Park), while Tiffany Benjamin (Guyana/Bishop Loughlin) added an assist along with two digs in a losing effort.
 
Annie Cosgrave slammed a game-high 10 kills, while Amanda Masson totaled 11 of the team's 31 service aces for the Rams (6-5). Gina Giacalone dished off a team-best 10 assists as Farmingdale earned the victory.
 
The first set saw Farmingdale grab an early 4-3 lead, then rattle off 12 of the next 13 points that included seven service aces. Masson would ace the Cougars four more times in the set to put the Rams up 1-0.
 
In set two, an offensive barrage helped Farmingdale jump out to a 13-1 advantage before Medgar Evers took a timeout. After an attack error, the Rams would unleash another big outburst with 11 of the next 12 points as they sealed set two.
 
After the Cougars sliced an early deficit to one in set three, Masson collected four more service aces and a kill as part of a 7-0 run to go up 10-2. Medgar Evers would take advantage of attack errors and service errors and battle back to within six points. However, the Rams would put together another big offensive push to go up double figures that all but sealed the victory.
 
Medgar Evers will return to action Wednesday night when they travel to Newburgh, N.Y. as they take on Mount Saint Mary College. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. Live stats will be available on Mount Saint Mary's website.
