Medgar Evers College Outdoor Track & Field teams unveil competitive 2025 schedules

Fresh off of their 2024-2025 indoor track and field crowns, the Medgar Evers College track and field teams are gearing up to continue collecting the hardware, as the teams have officially unveiled their competitive 2025 outdoor schedule. Following the announcement of the schedule, Head Coach Hugh Reid gave his thoughts on the challenges that await his squad.

"The 2025 outdoor track and field schedule will certainly push our student-athletes to continue improving, and continue taking their performances to the next level," Reid said. "Our athletes have shown incredible dedication and work ethic over the last two seasons, but also the will to be great. I fully expect that the challenging meets on this schedule will catapult our student-athletes into yet another stage of greatness. We are all excited to get started."

The Cougars will compete in a pair of events in March, starting with the J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic, hosted by Wesleyan University, on Saturday, March 22. That'll take place at the Andersen Track in Middletown, CT. One week later (March 29), Medgar Evers will travel to Easton, PA to compete in Lafayette's Leopard Invitational.

When the calendar flips over to April, Medgar Evers will compete in five meets altogether. On Saturday, April 5, the Cougars will head to the Nation's Capital to compete in the Gallaudet University Invitational. The event takes place at the Thomas O. Berg Track in Washington, DC. From April 11-12, the Cougars will compete in Connecticut College's Silfen Invitational in New London, CT. Medgar Evers completes the month by competing in the Misericordia Invitational (4/15, Dallas, PA), Lincoln University-PA Invitational (4/17, Lincoln, PA), and Southern Connecticut State University's Jack Malloney/Jim Barber Invitational (426, New Haven, CT).

On Saturday, May 3, the Cougars will compete in the 2025 CUNYAC Championships. That event will be held at Icahn Stadium in New York, NY, with a start-time of 9:00am. Six days later, on May 9, Medgar Evers will travel to Gopher Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland to participate in the ECAC Championships.

Should the Cougars qualify, members of the teams will compete on a National level, traveling to Williamstown, MA for the NCAA Division III AARTFC Regional Championships (May 14-15), and to Geneva, OH for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships (May 22-24).
