The Medgar Evers College outdoor track & field program continued its 2026 campaign with a strong showing at the Springfield College Outdoor Classic, hosted by Springfield College. Facing a competitive field of Division II and III programs including Bridgeport, Trinity, University of Maine, Western New England, Vermont State, and UMass Boston, MEC demonstrated poise, depth, and resilience throughout the meet. The team produced multiple CUNYAC qualifiers, AARTFC regional qualifiers, school records, and personal-best performances, signaling continued progress as the season builds momentum.

Quote from Coach Reid:

"We're extremely excited right now as a program", Reid said. "Seeing Reco qualify for the NCAA Championships this early in the season is a testament to the work he's been putting in day in and day out. Nothing about that performance was accidental — he's earned every bit of it, and I'm proud of his discipline and growth. At the same time, what Brianna is doing across the board—breaking both the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles school records in the same meet—is special. That level of versatility and competitiveness is rare. And then to see Kenia step up and break the steeplechase record shows the continued progression of our distance program. What excites me just as much as the wins and records is the number of personal bests we saw across the board. That tells me the culture is working—people are pushing, people are believing, and it's motivating the entire team to elevate. We're not where we want to be yet, but we're moving in the right direction."

Lindo also added a 7th-place finish in the 100m, running 12.79 (12.78 in the prelims), another CUNYAC qualifier.
