Cougars fall to Gothic Knights 12-1

Madison, NJ- The Medgar Evers College played on Sunday Sept. 4, 2011 in the final day of the Drew Fall Festival on the campus of Drew University. The Cougars fell to the Gothic Knights of NJCU 12-1. The Cougars fell to 0-2 on the young season, while NJCU improved to 1-1.

The Cougars just seemed over powered by Jersey City's offense and deep bench. NJCU scored in the 2nd minute of the game and never looked back. They scored 8 goals in the 1st half, before the Cougars joined the party with a goal by Musilim Adebowafe assisted by Borris Pendie now the score 8-1 at the half. The Cougars were outshot 21-2 in the period.

In the 2nd half, Jersey City tacked on 4 more goals while the Cougars didn't score. They were outshot 7-2 in the half and 28-4 for the game.

For the Goalkeepers, Christopher Welsh stopped 8 balls that came his way, but also gave up 12 goals. His counterpart Manny Logo gave up a goal and saving 1 shot.

The Cougars will be back in action, on Saturday Sept. 10, 2011 when they play in the 2011 CIAO Classic on the campus of MCLA in North Adams, MA. Kickoff is set for 2pm.
