Jamaica, NY- The Cougars played a marathon of Men's Volleyball on Saturday March 17, 2012 at York College. The teams they played were York Cardinals twice and Lehman College. 

In match 1, the Cougars fell to the York Cardinals 3-0 (20-25, 11-25, 17-25). The win by York improved their record to 15-10 Overall and 7-1 CUNYAC while the Cougars dropped to 0-19 Overall and 0-9 CUNYAC.

The Cougars played a tough 3rd set losing by 8pts. They hit .412 for a hitting percentage. Jamal Baptiste led MEC with 7 kills. He added 4 digs to his stat sheet. Lancedale Calderon tallied 11 assists and Olando Cummings added a service ace. 

York was led by Bryan Williams with 11 kills and Edner Geffard with 10 kills.

In match 2, the Cougars lost to Lehman College 3-0 (15-25, 17-25, 18-25). The win improved Lehman to 14-7 Overall and 8-4 CUNYAC while the Cougars dropped to 0-20 Overall and 0-10 CUNYAC.

MEC didn't play well in this match, committing 11 errors and only hitting in the positive range once .118 in the 2nd set. Olando Cummings led the Cougars with 6 kills to go along with 2 assists, 4 digs, and 4 solo blocks. Lancedale Calderon tallied 8 assists. Jamal Baptiste recorded 2 service aces and 10 digs.

Lehman was led from Brian Francisco with 11 kills. 

In the 3rd match, York and MEC played for the 2nd time in just a matter of hrs. This match was a rescheduled match from this past Thursday.. York won 3-0 (13-25, 21-25, 20-25). The win improved their record to 16-11 Overall and 8-2 CUNYAC while the Cougars fell to 0-21 Overall and 0-11 CUNYAC.

Jamal Baptiste led the Cougars with 10 kills, to go with 12 digs and 2 blocking assists. Olando Cummings recorded 8 kills, 3 digs and a blocking assist. Lancedale Calderon added 14 assists.

Edner Geffard led York with 16 kills.

MEC will be back in action on Tuesday March 20, 2012 when they travel to John Jay College. Game time against the Bloodhounds will be 6pm.
