COUGARS FALL TO HUNTER 3-0 IN MV CUNYAC QUARTERS

New York, NY- The Cougars fell to the #1 seed Hunter College Hawks 3-0 (4-25, 5-25, 6-25) on Tuesday April 10, 2012 at the 2012 CUNYAC Men's Volleyball Championships. The Cougars entered the Championships as the #8 seed. MEC finished the 2012 season at 0-26 Overall, while the #11 Hunter College Hawks improved to 24-7 Overall. Hunter is nationally ranked.

Hunter dominated this Quarterfinal matchup. Hawks tallied 32 kills compared to MEC's 5. Hawks also converted 13 service aces compared to 0 for MEC.

MEC was led from Senior Jason Brown with 3 kills and a dig. Fellow Senior Olando Cummings tallied 2 kills to go along with a solo block. Lancedale Calderon totaled 5 assists, and Calderon and Erick Pericles each tallied 2 digs.

Hunter was led from Braien Otsala tallied 7 kills.

MEC will look for improvements during the summer and will hope to start the 2013 season on a high note.
