Box Score Brooklyn, NY- On Friday Sept. 14, 2012, the Medgar Evers College Men's Soccer team played the SUNY Maritime Privateers at Aviator Sports and Recreational Center in Brooklyn, NY. The Privateers defeated Medgar Evers 3-0. The win improved their record to 3-3 Overall while the Cougars dropped to 0-3 Overall.
SUNY Maritime scored first with 43:35. Both teams would play tight defense and not allow anyone to muster any possible chances. Out of the 5 combine shots in the half, Medgar Evers only made one attempt at the Privateers net.
In the 2
nd half, SUNY Maritime outshot Medgar Evers 17-4 and 10 of those 17 were on goal. The Privateers tacked on 2 goals in the closing minutes of the game to give them the 3-0 win. Andrew Dietrich scored the pair of goals and both were assisted by Matt Ciruzzi. The first goal was from Chris Anderson assisted by David Hraska.

Christopher Welsh played the full 90 minutes, allowed 3 goals and made 11 saves. His counterpart Michael Vanadia played the full game, walked away with a clean sheet (no goals), and made a save.
Medgar Evers will be back in action on Wednesday Sept. 19, 2012 when they play in their conference opener vs. John Jay College. Game time is 7pm at Aviator Sports and Recreational Center.
