Box Score Brooklyn, NY- On Wednesday Sept. 19, 2012, the Medgar Evers College Men's Soccer team competed against the John Jay College Bloodhounds in their 2012 CUNYAC Opener at Aviator Sports and Recreational Center in Brooklyn, NY. John Jay won the contest 3-0. They improved to 2-4-2 Overall, and 1-0-1 CUNYAC while Medgar Evers dropped to 0-4 Overall and 0-1 CUNYAC.
The game was fast paced. Medgar Evers Sophomore quickly got in front of the John Jay defense and rifled a shot just left of the goal keeper Vitecha Kochaon. Medgar Evers would record 3 shots in the half compared to John Jay's 14. John Jay would get on the board due to a penalty kick from Justin Orsino. The penalty was a result of a handball from
Sherwin Henry of Medgar Evers, which would earn him a red card. The score at the half was 1-0.
In the 2nd half, John Jay opened the half with 2 straight shots, both high. Medgar Evers would attempt 3 shots on goal. John Jay would score twice and tally 16 shots in the half.

Christopher Welsh played 90 minutes, gave up 3 goals and stopped 9 shots. His counterpart, Vitecha Kochaon, played 90 minutes, didn't give up a goal, and made 3 saves.
The Cougars will be back in action on Thursday Sept. 27, 2012 when they play the St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn Bears at Aviator Sports and Recreational Center. Game time is 8pm.
