COUGARS FALL TO BEARS IN MEN'S SOCCER SEASON FINALE

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Men's Soccer Team fell to the Saint Joseph's College of Brooklyn Bears 3-2 in the final match of 2013. The Bears improve to 3-10 Overall while the Cougars drop to 1-12 Overall.

In the 1st half, the Cougars tallied 10 shots but failed to score. Down 2-0 at the break, the Cougars scored two goals nearly two minutes apart. Senior Defender Wayne Williams cut the lead by 1, when he dribbled the ball pass a couple of defenders, and kicked it passed Bears keeper Michael Miner. This was Williams' first goal of the season.  The game tying goal was from Midfielder Michael Mieres. Mieres goal came from Sophomore Midfielder Nikolai Calder. Calder fed the ball to Mieres, which ripped it off the cross bar and into the back of the net. It was Mieres 1st goal of the season. Saint Joseph's College of Brooklyn would score the game winner in the 65th minute, when Raul Urshela scored on a breakaway. It was his 2nd of the game.

Senior Goalie Christopher Welsh, gave up 3 goals, and made 3 saves. His counterpart Michael Miner gave up 2 goals, and made 5 saves.
