COUGARS DROP A PAIR TO CCNY 3-0 A PIECE IN MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 New York, NY-  On Wednesday March 6, 2013, the Medgar Evers College Cougars played pair of matches at City College in a twin bill. In match 1, the Beavers defeated the Cougars 3-0 (25-4, 25-14, and 25-18). The Beavers improve to 6-7 Overall and 3-3 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 0-4 Overall and 0-3 CUNYAC. 

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Junior Shemroy Primo with 3 kills on 10 total attacks. Freshman Wen-Liang Zhu tallied 4 assists, Senior Kyheo Farquharson added a service ace, Senior Christopher Welsh recorded 2 solo blocks.

In the win, the Beavers were led by Philippe Desir with 9 kills.

In match 2, the Cougars fell to the Beavers 3-0 (25-6, 25-15, 25-18). The Beavers improve to 7-7 Overall and 4-3 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 0-5 Overall and 0-4 CUNYAC.

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Senior Christopher Welsh with 4 kills on 20 total attacks. Welsh tallied 4 digs, and a solo block. Senior Kyheo Farquharson tallied a team high 5 assists and 6 digs.

In the win, the Beavers were led by Rubin Taipi with 6 kills. 

The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday March 12, 2013, when they play the Yeshiva Maccabees at Medgar Evers College. Game time is 8pm.
