COUGARS FALL TO ST. JOESPH'S COLLEGE OF BROOKLYN IN MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Men's Volleyball team wrapped up the 2013 regular season with a matchup versus the Saint Joseph's College of Brooklyn Bears. The Bears won 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-23). The win improved the Bears record to 7-13 Overall while the Cougars drop to 0-23 Overall.

Prior to the match, Senior Christopher Welsh was honored for his three years of service to the Men's Volleyball team. The Cougars tallied 19 kills. Down 2-0, the Cougars were up 22-15 in the 3rd set, before the Bears fought back and claimed the match. 

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Junior Shemroy Primo with 8 kills on 22 total attacks. Primo added 2 assists, 13 digs, and a blocking assist. Senior Christopher Welsh tallied 7 kills on 34 total attacks. Welsh added a service ace, and 17 digs. Sophomore Setter Wen-Liang Zhu added 12  assists.

In the win, Saint Joseph's College of Brooklyn were led by the trio of Martin Torres, Raul Urshela, and Taso Kostikas, all with 7 kills.

The Cougars will be back in action, on Tuesday April 9, 2013, when they battle the Baruch College Bearcats, in the CUNYAC Men's Volleyball Quarter Finals. The match will take place at Baruch College as they are the #1 seed, vs. the #8 seeded Cougars. First set is scheduled for 7pm.
