Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Men's Soccer team defeated the Saint Joseph's College of Brooklyn Bears 2-1 earlier tonight at the Aviator Sports Complex. The win is their 1st for the season. This is their 3rd win in against the Bears in the last three seasons. The Cougars improve to 1-3 Overall while the Bears fall to 0-2 Overall.
The Cougars got on the board first in the 5th minute. Sophomore
Nikolai Calder scored on a free kick making the score 1-0. Its the 1st goal for the Cougars this season. The Bears have various opportunities of tying the game with either headers or shots. They tallied 5 shots and 3 on goal in the 1st half.
In the 2nd half, the Bears racked up 7 shots and 4 on goal. In the 68th minute, Raul Urshela scored off a rebound from teammate Guiseppe Porretto, tying the game at 1. The Cougars tallied 13 shots in the 2nd half, and 7 on goal. In the 79th minute, the Cougars would regain the lead. After a St. Joseph's College foul, Sophomore
Mohamed Jalloh kicked a free kick near the goalie, and the ball was deflected by Junior
Borris Pendie. This was his 1st of the season.
