MEN'S SOCCER ZEAKIEL DALEY SCORES TWO GOALS AGAINST ST. JOSEPH'S COLLEGE BROOKLYN

Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Soccer team fell to the St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn Bears 9-2 earlier tonight. The win improves the Bears record to 5-5 overall while the Cougars drop to 4-8 overall.

The Cougars tallied five shots in the first half (one was on-goal). In the 27th minute, the Cougars got on the board, when Junior Forward Zeakiel Daley scored off a free kick, then headed the ball into the net. This made the score 5-1 Bears, and was his 10th of the season. Then in the 44th minute, Daley scored off a penalty kick, making the score 6-2 Bears, and his 11th of the season. The Bears outshot the Cougars 30-9 (15-6 on-goal).

For the Goalies, the Cougars freshman Kende Roberts played the 1st half, giving up six goals, and making four saves. In the 2nd half, fellow classmate Damar Saul played the last 45 minutes, giving up three goals, and making two saves. The Bears keeper Michael Miner played all 90 minutes, giving up two goals, and carouling four saves.

The Bears will be back in action on Saturday October 18, 2014, when they Cougars play the York College Cardinals in a non-conference game. Game time is 10:00am.
