MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO JOHN JAY IN A TOUGH CUNYAC CONTEST

Box Score New York, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Soccer team fell to the John Jay College Bloodhounds 5-1 earlier today. The win improves the Bloodhounds record to (5-8, 4-1 CUNYAC) while the Cougars drop to (4-6, 2-4 CUNYAC).

The Cougars had some chances to score. They put up seven shots in the 1st half. In the 20th minute, the Cougars tied the game at 1. The goal was scored from Freshman Forward Osondu Esonwune off a pass from fellow classmate Forward Mamdou Kone. This was Esonwune's 4th goal of the season. 

In the 2nd half, the Cougars put up eight shots. Two were near misses for the goal. John Jay tallied 28 shots for the game. Two Cougars tallied nine of the 15 total shots. Freshman Esonwune recorded four shots and Freshman Forward King Owusu notched a team high five shots.

For the goalies, Medgar Evers College Sophomore Kedric Flemius played all 90 minutes, giving up five goals, and making 15 saves. His counterpart Vitecha Kochaon played 90 minutes, giving up a goal, and making nine saves. 

The Cougars will be back in action on Friday October 10, 2014, when they play the Hunter College Hawks. Game time is 4:00 pm at Aviator Sports and Recreation Center.
