FRESHMAN OUTSIDE HITTER AUSTIN CRAWFORDS TEN KILLS NOT ENOUGH TO DEFEAT PRATT IN MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Volleyball team fell to the Pratt Institute Cannoneers 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, and 25-20). The Cannoneers improve to 3-2 Overall while the Cougars drop to 0-8 Overall.

In the 1st set, both teams swaped the lead. There were seven ties within the 1st 12 points. The Cougars led five times within the 1st 12pts. With the match tied at 12, Pratt would go 5-0 run, and win the set  25-19. They were even in the set in terms of hitting percentage, tallying 8 kills and 8 errors, for 32 total attacks.

In the 2nd set, the Cougars started off with a 2-0 lead. Pratt would tie the score at 2 apiece, and lead the rest of the set. The Cougars only tallied six kills on 34 total attacks for the set.

In the 3rd set, the Cougars played catchup from the opening serve. They cut the lead to a point (2-1), but was never to jump to the lead. The Cougars tallied 6 kills on 26 total attacks.

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Freshman Outside Hitter Austin Crawford with 10 kills on 34 total attacks. The Belize native recorded ten kills and added a blocking assist. Freshman Setter Angel Seda led the team with 14 assists, and Sophomore Outside Hitter Adiel Ramos Munoz led the team in digs with 11.

In the win, Pratt was led by David Cutler with 11 kills. Chris Fantin has a match high 20 assists.

The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday March 5, 2014, when they travel to Upper Manhattan, and play the City College of New York Beavers. Game time is 7pm.
