COUGARS FIGHT HARD BUT FALL TO BLOODHOUNDS 3-1 IN MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Volleyball Cougars fell to the John Jay College Bloodhounds 3-1 (15-25, 11-25, 25-23, and 11-25) earlier tonight. The Bloodhounds improve to 4-12 Overall and 2-9 CUNYAC while the CougarsĀ  drop to 0-16 Overall and 0-11 CUNYAC.

After the Cougars were down two sets to zero, Medgar Evers College played a tight and exciting 3rd set, winning 25-23. In the set, the team tallied nine kills, and hit a .479%. In the fourth set, the Cougars tallied seven kills, but couldn't find a way to win the set.

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Freshman Outside Hitter Austin Crawford with 10 kills on 27 total attacks. The Belize native recorded two service aces and six digs. Freshman Opposite Ronald Bonhomme added a career high seven kills. Freshman Setter Angel Seda dished out a match high 16 assists. A

In the win, John Jay was led by Jack Palleschi with 17 kills. Nicholas Anderson added 27 assists.

The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday March 22, 2014, when they travel to Riverdale, NY, and play the College of Mt. St. Vincent Quad Match. The Cougars will play against SUNYIT at 11:30am, followed by a match against Cazenovia at 1pm, and ending the day, with a 3pm first set against the home College of Mt. St. Vincent.
