COUGARS MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROP A PAIR TO JOHN JAY AND LEHMAN IN CUNYAC MULTI MATCH

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 New York, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Volleyball team fell to the John Jay College Bloodhounds and the Lehman College Lightning at the 2nd CUNYAC Multi Match this season. These matches took place at John Jay College. 

In match 1, the Cougars fell to the host John Jay Bloodhounds 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, and 25-10). The Bloodhounds improve to 3-8 Overall and 1-5 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop 0-10 Overall and 0-7 CUNYAC. 

The Cougars tallied 17 kills. 

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Freshman Outside Hitter Austin Crawford, with nine kills on 21 total attacks. The Belize native dished out an assist, recorded a service ace, tallied a team high four digs, and added a solo block. Freshman Setter Angel Seda dished out 13 assists.

In the win, John Jay College was led by Jack Palleschi with 17 kills. Nicholas Anderson added 28 assists. 

In match 2, the Cougars fell to the Lehman College Lightning 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, and 25-17). The Lightning improve to 7-11 Overall and 2-6 CUNYAC while the Cougars fall to 0-11 Overall and 0-8 CUNYAC.

The Cougars tallied 18 kills for the match. They also hit positive in the hitting category, in all three sets. 

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Freshman Outside Hitter Austin Crawford and Sophomore Middle Hitter Jamal Chance both tallied seven kills apiece. They both recorded eight digs as well. Chance added a solo block and two blocking assists. Crawford added a service ace. Freshman Setter Angel Seda dished out 15 assists.

In the win, Lehman College was led by Edmond Badu with nine kills. Miguel Gallardo added 26 assists.

The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday March 12, 2014, when they travel to New York, NY and play the Yeshiva University Maccabees. Game time is 8:00 pm.
