Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Soccer team defeated the Saint Joseph's College of Brooklyn 3-1 earlier tonight. The Cougars improve to 3-2 Overall while the Bears drop to 1-3 Overall. The Cougars have won the last four out the five meetings against the St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, dating back to 2008.

The Cougars were outshot 10-6 in 1st half. They showed offense against the Bears, by netting two goals in the 1st half. In the 2nd minute, Junior Forward Zeakiel Daley scored his 6th goal of the season from throwin by Freshman Forward Patrick Gentles. Daley was just ranked this week, #1 in the NCAA Division III, in Points Per Game (3.50), and Goals Per Game (1.50). In the 14th minute, Freshman Forward Mamadou Kone scored his 2nd goal of the season, receiving a pass from fellow Freshman Forward Dave Henry. 

In the 2nd half, the Cougars continued their offense assault. Both teams tallied seven shots. In the 51st minute, Freshman Forward Osondu Esonwune scored his 3rd goal of the season. He 1st kicked the ball, which was blocked by Bears goalie Michael Miner, before Esonwune putting it into the net. The Bears scored in the 59th minute, when Thomas Hamier kicked a free kick pass Cougars keeper Kedric Flemius.   

For the goalies, Medgar Evers College Sophomore Goalie, Kedric Flemius played 90 minutes, gave up a goal, and made a career high eight saves. St. Joseph's College Bears Michael Miner played 90 minutes, giving up three goals, and made three saves. 

The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday September 24, 2014, when they travel to Staten Island, NY, and battle confernce rival the College of Staten Island Dolphins. Game time is 4:00pm.
