WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO BARUCH IN THREE SETS

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Women's Volleyball squad fell to the Baruch College Bearcats 3-0 (7-25, 13-25, 10-25) earlier tonight. The Bearcats improve to 8-8 (3-0 CUNYAC), while the Cougars drop to 2-12 (0-4 CUNYAC). This was the home opener for the 2014 season. 

Baruch took care of the first two sets with ease. The third was the exciting set of the night. The Cougars tied the score at 6, which was the first time, the score was tied in the match. The set was back and forth and ultimately won by the Bearcats. 

The Cougars were led by Senior Outside Hitter Kiwelewa Mlimwengu with four kills on 18 total attacks. The Brooklyn, NY native added seven digs, and a solo block. Junior Setter AnnMarie Bemberry dished out five assists. 

The Bearcats were led by Sydney Parks with eight kills.

The Cougars will be back on Saturday September. 27, 2014, when they play the Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons and New Jersey City University Knights at the NJCU Tri Match, in Jersey City, NJ. Game time against the Gryphons will be 1pm and then 3pm against the host Knights.
