Box Score STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The Medgar Evers men's soccer team was ousted by the College of Staten Island, 11-0, in the quarterfinals of the CUNYAC Championships at the CSI Soccer Complex Wednesday afternoon.
Dave Henry made six saves in net for the Cougars (2-14-1, 1-6-1 CUNYAC) in a losing effort. The team failed to score on the day on three total shots,with a shot apiece fromÂ
Zeakiel Daley, Lorenzo Pierre-Louis, andÂ
Damar Saul.
The Dolphins (9-8-1, 6-1-1 CUNYAC) earned the quarterfinal win with a hat trick from Brayan Evo, while both Emmanuel Aboola and Nermin Kurtesi each tallied three assists and one goal. Philip Lefkowitz dished two assists, and Marcin Klim was one of six other players with a score on the day.
Staten Island jumped ahead early in the match, with Klim scoring two and a half minutes in. Evo got his first goal of the matchup less than five minutes later to go up 2-0. He then would add his other two scores in that same half as the Cougars fell behind 5-0 at intermission.
In the second half, the offensive barrage continued as the Dolphins pulled away with six scores to pull away from Medgar Evers.
