Box Score 2 NEW YORK, N.Y.- The Men's Volleyball team dropped a pair of conference matches, against Brooklyn College and Lehman College. Both matches were played at City College.
In match one, the Cougars fell to the Brooklyn College Bulldogs 3-2 (25-14, 16-25, 25-20, 8-25, 7-15). The Bulldogs improve to 1-26, 1-13 CUNYAC while the Cougars fall to 2-21, 1-13 CUNYAC.
The Cougars won the first two out of three sets. Brooklyn fought back a 2-1 deficit and won sets four and five. In the loss, Medgar Evers College was led by junior opposite/middle hitter
Jamal Chance with 13 kills on 26 total attacks. Jamal added two service aces, a match high 11 digs, a solo block, and a blocking assist. Freshman's outside hitters
Shaquille Miller and
Cecil Clarke recorded a career high six kills each. Sophomore setter
Angel Seda dished out a season high 25 assists. Angel recorded a match high four service aces as well. Brooklyn was led by Vaughn Ford with 14 kills.
In match two, the Cougars fell to the Lehman College Lightning 3-0 (20-25, 6-25, 10-25). The Lightning improve to 15-9, 8-7 CUNYAC while the Cougars fall to 2-22, 1-14 CUNYAC.
The Cougars recorded 13 kills for the match. They were led by freshman
Denzel Williams with six kills on 19 total attacks. Denzel added a service ace and three digs.
Jamal Chance added four kills and
Angel Seda dished out 10 assists. Lehman was led by Jaleel Lino with 11 kills.
Men's Volleyball will wrap up the regular season with a match against the College of Staten Island Dolphins on Tuesday, March. 31. First serve will be 7:00 p.m. at Medgar Evers College.
