Box Score BRONX, N.Y. – The Medgar Evers men's soccer team broke a scoreless tie late in the second half, and added onto the advantage to top CUNYAC opponent Lehman College, 2-0, for their first victory of 2015 Saturday morning on the road.

Zeakial Daley (Bronx, N.Y./Martin Van Buren) had a goal and an assist for the Cougars (1-5), as they earned their first win of the season.
Joshua Fernandez (Queens, N.Y./Far Rockaway) secured the game-winning goal at 74:30, andÂ
Lorenzo Pierre-Louis (Delmas, Haiti/Carnarsie Education Campus) grabbed the other assist. In net, keeper
Ziyaddeen Mohammed (Accra, Ghana/Lower East Side) stopped four shots on goal to secure his first shutout.

For the Lightning (3-3), the team fired 17 shots including four of them on goal. Keeper Irvin Barretto made two saves in net in a losing effort. Caio Mancanares compiled three shots, but none of them reached the net for Lehman.

The two teams had a defensive battle in the first half with neither team scoring in the first half. Medgar Evers totaled three shots in the half, while the Lightning fired eight shots on goal to no avail as they headed to the second half.

In the second half, Hernandez tallied the first goal of the game on a header from Daley at 74:30. Daley then sealed the game away after a pass from Pierre-Louis at 87:51 when he beat the keeper on a tap in up front.

The Cougars next will face off with Brooklyn rival St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Monday night as part of a doubleheader with the women's soccer squad. The women's game starts at 6:00 p.m., with the men's matchup following at 8:00 p.m. at Aviator Sports Complex.
