Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – The Medgar Evers men's volleyball team kicked off their 2016 campaign lost on the road to Lancaster Bible College in straight sets, 3-0 [13-25, 11-25, 7-25], Thursday afternoon in Pennsylvania.
Jamal Chance (Gouyave, Grenada) led the way for the Cougars (0-1) with five kills along with three digs and a block, while
Shaquille Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added four kills, four digs and the team's lone service ace in a losing effort. Setter
Angel Seda (Arecibo, Puerto Rico) distributed all 11 of Medgar Evers' assists, and
Kareem Cyrus (St. Georges, Grenada) tallied six digs.
The Chargers (1-2) got 33 total kills on the day, and were paced by Kasey Genty who slammed nine kills along with six digs and two aces. Both Joshua Rotz and Daniel Kreider added six kills apiece, while Timothy Meyer (19) and Garyd Martin (10) added double-digit assist totals on the win.
Up next for the Cougars is their second straight road matchup against borough rival St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) of the Skyline Conference on February 3rd at the Hill Center. First serve starts at 7:00 p.m.
