Box Score Men's Soccer Snaps Losing Streak with 4-1 Victory over Saint Elizabeth
Brooklyn, N.Y. (Oct. 12, 2016) – On Wednesday night, the men's soccer team hosted the Eagles of Saint Elizabeth in a nonconference matchup at Aviator Sports Complex. Medgar Evers struck first with a goal from sophomore Erwine Pierre-Louis in the 12^th minute assisted by freshman Miguel Deanda. Deanda had a total of three assists on the night and was an important part in Medgar Evers snapping their nine game losing streak. Junior Dave Henry made the game 2-0 after his goal in the 20^th minute also assisted by Deanda.
 
The second half started with another goal from the Cougars, freshman Fequere Saint George scored in the 49^th minute off a pass from Deanda. Saint Elizabeth's Miguel Frias got his team on the board with an unassisted goal in the 64^th minute but that wouldn't be enough. Just to be safe, the Cougars tacked on a fourth goal from junior captain Patrick Gentles. Primarily a defender, Gentles was able to get passed the Eagle's back line and score his first goal of the season. With the win, Medgar Evers improves to 3-11 on the year and Saint Elizabeth drops to 1-11.
 
Men's soccer will be back in action on Saturday, October 15, when they visit York College in a CUNYAC matchup that will begin at 2:45 p.m.
