Men's Volleyball Loses in Straight-Set Defeat to Albertus Magnus

Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Medgar Evers men's volleyball team lost on the road to non-conference opponent Albertus Magnus in straight sets, 3-0 [22-25, 22-25, 15-25], Sunday afternoon in New Haven.

Jamal Chance (Gouyave, Grenada) led the way for the Cougars (0-10) in a losing effort, with a game-high 16 kills along with 11 digs and four blocks. Setter Angel Seda (Brooklyn, N.Y.) dished out 21 assists, while Shaquille Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added three kills with two service aces and six digs.

As a team, the Falcons (4-2) registered 39 kills, 35 digs and five blocks. Freshman setter Jeremy Ortiz had another quality match, dishing out 35 assists. Justin Tharau recorded a double-double thanks to a 14-kill, 13-dig performance, while Joshua Turner added nine kills and four blocks.
