Box Score 2 NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Medgar Evers men's volleyball team lost to Hunter College in straight sets, 3-0 [5-25, 11-25, 12-25], then dropped three in a row to York, 3-0 [17-25, 26-28, 21-25], as part of a CUNYAC multi-match Saturday afternoon at the ARC Arena on the campus of Baruch College.
Jamal Chance (Gouyave, Grenada) totaled 20 kills, including 15 in the matchup against York along with three service aces for the Cougars (0-4, 0-2 CUNYAC) in a losing effort. Setter
Angel Seda (Arecidbo, Puerto Rico) dished out 21 assists in the York game and tallied 27 overall, while
Shaquille Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added five kills for Medgar Evers.
For Hunter, Benjamin Crusinberry slammed 10 kills with four service aces, while Steven Tarquinio and Daniel Dobrogowski each compiled seven kills apiece. Nicolas Sanchez dished off 17 assists, and Matthew Zukowski added six aces.
York got double-digit kills from Akeem George (11) and Anson Webb (10) in the win. George also had two blocks, and Webb tallied two aces. Frederis Tapia added six kills along with two aces and two blocks, while Jonathan Liao dished out 29 assists.
Up next for the Cougars is the team's first home matchup of the 2016 campaign taking on CUNYAC opponent John Jay at the Cougars.
