Box Score 2 JAMAICA, N.Y. – The Medgar Evers men's volleyball team lost both ends of a CUNYAC multi-match in straight sets to Lehman College [12-25, 18-25, 20-25] and Brooklyn College [16-25, 22-25, 22-25] at the York College Gym in Jamaica Saturday afternoon.
Senior
Jamal Chance (Gouyave, Grenada) totaled 26 kills over both matches for the Cougars (2-23, 0-16 CUNYAC), including 14 in a loss to Brooklyn. He added five blocks and seven digs.
Shaquille Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 10 kills, three assists and 18 digs, while
Kareem Cyrus (St. Georges, Grenada) dished out 21 assists and seven digs in the second matchup.
The Lightning (7-17, 5-10 CUNYAC) were led by Ramon Jimenez who slammed 12 kills, while Orlando Vargas added 11 of his own. Emmanuel Ortiz dished out 35 assists and five service aces.
Titus Vaughn led the way for the Bulldogs (8-18, 5-10 CUNYAC) in game two, tallying a game-high 20 kills with three aces and five digs for a .441 hitting percentage. Kevin Bautista added seven kills and three assists and Moaz Ali Choudary chipped in with six kills. Primary setter Sayuj Zachariah added 30 assists and also contributed three kills and three digs.
The Cougars will wrap up their final week of the regular season with a road matchup against the College of Staten Island Tuesday night, followed by their home finale Friday night against Sarah Lawrence College at the Cougars Cave.
