Box Score Men's Volleyball Falls to Albertus Magnus 3-1 in Nonconference Matchup at the Cave
(BROOKLYN, N.Y.) – The men's volleyball team hosted Albertus Magnus College in a non-conference matchup Tuesday night at the Cougars' Cave. The game was competitive from the beginning as the Cougars took the opening set but Albertus Magnus made the adjustments coming back to defeat Medgar Evers 3-1. With the loss, Medgar Evers stands at 0-7 on the year while Albertus Magnus improves to 2-4.
The Cougars started off great playing some of the best volleyball we have seen thus far this year. Their teamwork was amazing as they came together to take the first set by a score of 25-16. After the first set the Cougars started to struggle and could not keep up the same intensity we saw in the first set as they fell 25-13. In the third set Albertus Magnus kept their foot on the pedal and won the set 25-14. In the fourth and final set Medgar Evers woke back up making a run at forcing a deciding fifth set but it was not enough as Albertus Magnus pulled away to win 25-19.
Sophomore
Abdul Kamara (Sierra Leone, West Africa) and junior
Ronald Bonhomme (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Cougars in kills as Bonhomme recorded six and Kamara four. Kamara also led the Cougars with four digs.
Angel Seda (Brooklyn, N.Y.) played a big role recording 7 assists for Medgar Evers.
Bryan Reyes led Albertus Magnus with 28 digs. Men's volleyball is back in action Thursday, February 23
rd when they host Lehman College in a CUNYAC matchup at 7:00 p.m.
