Box Score Men's Volleyball Loses in Straight Sets to Conference Rival Lehman
(BROOKLYN, N.Y.) – Medgar Evers men's volleyball team hosted the Lehman College Lightning in a CUNYAC matchup on Thursday night at the Cougars' Cave. The Cougars had a difficult time in the matchup struggling to stop the momentum of Lehman College and would eventually lose in straight sets. As a result, the Cougars fall to 0-8 for the year while Lehman College record increases to 6-7.
The Cougars couldn't match the scoring of Lehman all night. After a score of 1-1 in the first set Lehman went on a 9-0 run to make the score 10-1. The Cougars were able to string in a couple points after the run to get the game to 16-4 but Lehman pulled away and won the set 25-5. In the second set Medgar Evers struggled with the servers of Lehman as they scored 12 service aces in the set winning with a score of 25-7. Medgar Evers made adjustments and did better with Lehman's servers in the third set but it was not enough as Medgar Evers would fall the set 25-8.
Angel Seda (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Medgar Evers in digs as he recorded six. Junior
Ronald Bonhomme (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also did very well as he recorded 5 digs. For Lehman College,
Emmanuel Ortiz led their team with 15 service aces.
Men's volleyball is back in action Saturday, February 25
th when they host Lancaster Bible and John Jay in a tri-match at the Cougars' Cave beginning at 11 a.m.
