Box Score Men's Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets to Rival Brooklyn
(BROOKLYN, N.Y.) – The men's volleyball team hosted the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College in a CUNYAC matchup to Tuesday night at the Cougars' Cave. The Cougars were outmatched against Brooklyn as they were swept in straight sets. With this loss, Medgar Evers falls to 0-3 (0-1 CUNYAC) on the year while Brooklyn improves to 2-3 (1-0).
The Cougars lost the first set due to a forfeit. The second set went well in the beginning as the Cougars hung around trailing 5-4 but then Brooklyn responded with a 20-3 run to win the second set. Brooklyn controlled the entire third set as they got out to an 8-2 start and never looked back.
Medgar Evers was led by junior
Shaquille Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who had a team-high six digs and three kills. Sophomore
Kareem Cyrus (Saint Georges, Grenada) added six digs of his own while also adding three kills. Brooklyn was led by
Kamil Kosmider who had 10 digs on the night. Men's volleyball is back in action this Thursday, February 16
th when they visit St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn beginning at 7 p.m.
