Box Score Men's Volleyball Falls 3-0 to John Jay at the Cave
(BROOKLYN, N.Y.) – The men's volleyball team hosted the Bloodhounds of John Jay College in a CUNYAC matchup on Tuesday night at the Cougars' Cave. The Cougars struggled on the night defensively while also struggling with their passing as a team. They would eventually be swept in straight sets by the Bloodhounds. With this loss, Medgar Evers falls to 0-11 (0-5 CUNYAC) on the year while John Jay improves to 6-9 (1-2).
The Cougars did not get off to a good start falling behind 5-0 early. They were able to hang around after an error from John Jay to make the score 14-6. John Jay responded with a 5-0 run to push the lead to 13. John Jay would pull away and win the opening set 25-9. In the second set Medgar Evers struggled with the servers of John Jay. The Bloodhounds recorded six service aces in the set, also winning by a score of 25-8. The third and final set was similar to the first two. Medgar Evers hung around early but could not generate enough offense to get the win as John Jay won 25-8.

Ronald Bonhomme (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and sophomores
Mark Reid (Atlanta, GA) and
Abdul Kamara (Sierra Leon, West Africa). Reid also recorded two assists in the match. John Jay was led by
Steven Alvarado who had 20 assists on the night
Men's volleyball is back in action Thursday, March 2
nd when they host St. Joseph's College (LI) in a non-conference matchup at the Cougars' Cave beginning at 7:00 p.m.
