Box Score Men's Volleyball Drops CUNYAC Matchup Against CCNY in Straight Sets
(BROOKLYN, N.Y.) – Medgar Evers men's volleyball team hosted the Beavers of CCNY in a CUNYAC matchup on Tuesday night. The Cougars battled and competed hard but it was not enough to hang with CCNY as they would lose in straight sets. With that loss, the Cougars fall to 0-22 (0-11 CUNYAC) on the year while CCNY improves to 8-14 (2-5).
In the first set the Cougars were competitive but could not do enough to hang in the game as key mistakes caused them to fall 25-10. Medgar Evers took control of the second set early but they allowed CCNY to make a run back into it. The Cougars would lose the second set 25-13. In the final set the Cougars were not able to stop the power and strength of the Beavers as they would drop the third set 25-9.
Sophomore
Kareem Cyrus (Saint Georges, Grenada) led the Cougars with six assist and he also recorded 10 digs on the match while freshman
Dwight Boone (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also played a key role recording seven digs of his own. For CCNY, Oleksander Boychuk led the way with 28 assists in the game. Men's volleyball will be back in action Thursday, March 30
th as they travel to Wilkes University for a non- conference matchup beginning at 7 p.m.
