Men's Outdoor Track & Field

2026 MEC Outdoor Track & Field Schedules Announced; Cougar squads poised to take CUNYAC by storm

The Medgar Evers College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams unveiled their competitive 2026 schedules on Friday morning. The men's team will be aiming to win its third consecutive CUNYAC championship in a row under Head Coach Hugh Reid, while the women's squad will hope to reach the top of the conference mountain following two straight runner-up finishes in 2024 and 2025. There is internal belief that the collection of student-athletes Reid has put together this season could be the strongest since his tenure started prior to the 2024 campaign.

The Cougars begin the 2026 season by competing in a pair of late-March meets. Medgar Evers will travel to Shea Stadium (West Point, NY) to compete in the Army Open on Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21. The following weekend, the Cougars will participate in Goucher College's Blue & Gold Relays on Saturday, March 28.

In what is a stacked April slate, Medgar Evers will travel to Gregory-Douds Field at Eiler-Martin Stadium in East Stroudsburg, PA, to compete in East Stroudsburg University's All-American Meet on Saturday, April 4. The following week, the Cougars are set to compete at the Delaware Invitational (April 9-10, Newark, DE), and at Gallaudet's Bison Classic (April 11). Medgar Evers and Gallaudet will also compete against one another as part of a dual meet on April 11.

Towards the middle of April, the Cougars head to Lincoln University, PA to compete in the Lincoln University (Pa.) Invitational (April 16). Medgar Evers then wraps-up the regular season portion of its 2026 campaign by participating in the CCSU Blue Devil Invite (April 24, New Britain, CT), and the Vassar Spring Invite (April 25, Poughkeepsie, NY).

As the calendar flips to May, CUNYAC championship meet will take place on Saturday, May 2 at Icahn Stadium (9am, New York, NY), and the following weekend, the Cougars will compete in the Farley Inter Regional (May 8-9, Williamstown, MA), hosted by Williams College

The AARTFC Outdoor Championship (May 13-14, Ursinus University, Collegeville, PA), and the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship (May 21-23, La Crosse, WI).
