Isaiah Brodie earns CUNYAC Rookie of the Week distinction

The City University of New York Athletic Conference announced its weekly award recipients for the period of Monday, November 14 through Sunday, November 20, and Medgar Evers was represented by freshman Isaiah Brodie, who was tabbed the conference's Rookie of the Week. The youngster earned the distinction thanks to his efforts against non-conference opponents Lesley University and Dean College in Massachusetts this past weekend.

The Spire Academy High School product played well in Medgar Evers' two games this past weekend, scoring eight points (4-6 FG) while pulling down four rebounds in the Cougars' 75-71 victory over the Lynx this past Saturday. A day later against the Bulldogs, Brodie scored a team-high 15 points (7-9 FG) while snatching five rebounds.

Brodie has made the most of his playing time thus far on the 2022-2023 campaign. In 73 minutes played, the freshman has knocked down 13 of his 18 attempts from the floor (72.2 percent) while snatching 13 rebounds (3.3 per game). He continues to show improvement, and he'll look to make a bigger impact in the coming weeks.

Medgar Evers will return to the floor this Monday evening, as the Cougars will travel to Morristown, NJ to take on Saint Elizabeth University. Start-time for that contest is scheduled for 7:00pm.
