Box Score Newark, NJ- The Women's Basketball Cougars fell to the Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders 73-14 on the campus of Rutgers-Newark. The Scarlet Raiders improved to 1-0 Overall while the Cougars dropped to 0-1 Overall.

The Cougars tried their hardest against Rutgers-Newark. They made good passes but ended up on the short end for most of the game. The Cougars down 42-0, got on the scoreboard with 11 seconds left in the 1st half on a layup from Sophomore Jasmine Dossou. Dossou scored another basket in the 2nd half.

In the 2nd half, the Cougars made strides. Freshman Jaquy Lanot scored 6pts and motivated her teammates to never giving up. Fellow Freshman Antanique Williams added 4pts.

Rutgers-Newark was led by Laura Shakiri with 14pts.

The Cougars will be back in action on Friday November 16, 2012 when they play the Ramapo College Roadrunners in their own tournament. Game time is 7pm in Mahwah, NJ.
