Medgar Evers women's volleyball program announces 2025 schedule; Home opener set for September 5 vs. Patriots

The Medgar Evers College women's volleyball program unveiled its 2025 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The slate will include a total of 19 matches, including seven CUNYAC contests, and 12 non-conference clashes.

The Cougars will open their 2025 slate on the road against non-conference foe Yeshiva University, in a contest that'll unfold from Baruch College's ARC Arena, on Wednesday, September 3. Medgar Evers will play its home opener on Friday, September 5 against Yeshiva University.

After a non-conference match against the Cardinals of York College on September 9, the Cougars will have six days off before opening their CUNYAC portion of the 2025 slate on September 16, hosting the Bloodhounds of John Jay College. John Jay its first league crown in program history.

Seven of Medgar Evers' next eight matches will take place away from home. The Cougars take on non-conference foes Mount Saint Vincent (September 18) and Valley Forge University (September 20) on the road before hosting York College in a CUNYAC clash on September 23. The Cougars close out the month of September with a non-league match against Lehman College in the Bronx on September 29.

When the season transitions into the month of October, Medgar Evers will travel to New Haven, CT to compete in a tri-match at Albertus Magnus on October 4. The Cougars will take on SUNY Maritime in the neutral contest, before battling the host Falcons in the other tilt. The Cougars' first road CUNYAC match will be October 7 at CCNY. Medgar Evers travels to SUNY Old Westbury for a non-league match with the Panthers on October 9.

Down the stretch of the season, the Cougars will play host to Lehman College in a CUNYAC match (October 14), before traveling to Manhattan to play 2024 CUNYAC Runner-up Hunter College on October 21. The Cougars and Centenary College Cyclones will tussle on October 23 in New Jersey.

Medgar Evers' senior night will take place on Tuesday, October 28, against CUNYAC opponent Baruch College. That evening, the Medgar Evers College Department of Athletics will honor all of its senior student-athletes in a pregame ceremony. That weekend, on Sunday, November 2, the Cougars compete in a tri-match at Rutgers-Camden. There, Medgar Evers will tussle with the Scarlet Raptors (12pm) before facing off against St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn (2pm).

The final match of the regular season for the Cougars will be a road CUNYAC match against the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College on November 4.

Should Medgar Evers make the CUNYAC Postseason, the quarterfinals and semifinals will be hosted at the higher seeds on November 11 and November 13, respectively. The final would take place at Baruch College on November 14 at 6:30pm.
